NYC Marathon
Last Sunday we walked to the corner of our street and cheered on those brave enough to run in the NYC Marathon. It was cold and gray outside but the girls had blast. Mayor Bloomberg (yes, the self-proclaimed "king" himself) kicked it off.
Lillian liked the view from up top.

The girls couldn't decide which was more interesting, the thousands of runners racing by us or the ramp on the street.

GO GO GO!
The girls needed a much deserved water break here at mile 4.

Halloween Day Fun
Yesterday we celebrated Halloween in true Bay Ridge, Brooklyn style.
After taking a morning walk down to the local Farmer's Market, the girls showed off their Halloween crafts from school.

Olivia's work
After showing off their crafts from school, the girls wanted to do some crafts at home with Mommy and Daddy. They decided to paint the pumpkins instead of carve them.
Olivia took to painting like a fish to water.
Lillian struggled with the fact the paintbrush goes on the pumpkin and not in her mouth.

After naps, we walked down to Owl's Head Park. As we arrived, Mayor Bloomberg was leaving so we knew this festival was THE place to be. Can you tell Olivia thought so too?
After walking around the Halloween festival, we did a little trick or treating...

They scored about 2 candy bars each which was perfect- one for each hand.

When we came home from our Halloween fun, we gave the girls a bite of a candy bar for dessert. It was a Reese's Peanut Butter Cup (Mommy's favorite).

Apple Picking
Last weekend we ventured out of the city to the Pomona Region of New York and made a day trip to The Orchards of Concklin.

The girls loved snatching up apples off the ground so Daddy showed them how to actually pick apples off a tree.
Lillian needed assistance
while Olivia pulled it right off the branch.
They especially loved eating the fruits of their labor.

It was a gorgeous day out in the orchard!

Our Twin BFFs Mimi and ZZ convinced their Mommy and Daddy to drive out as well and joined us out there for a few hours.

After picking some apples in the orchard, we went to the farm stand and the girls selected their Halloween pumpkins.

We can't wait to eat homemade applesauce and help Daddy carve pumpkins.
With their bushel of apples and their very own pumpkins, the girls decided to try some apple cider donuts.

Brooklyn Bridge
One week ago, Mommy and Daddy celebrated their 4th wedding anniversary. Per tradition, we made a trip down to the wedding site to reminisce.

The girls had a blast "walking the aisle" with Mommy!

After walking along the boardwalk, we headed over to the Brooklyn Bridge Park.

This park is under the Manhattan Bridge.

Olivia loved exploring under the playground equipment (which was in the shape of a boat).

Lillian quickly followed and joined Liv's exploration.
But mostly she ran around saying "cheese" for the camera.

Daddy couldn't help but join in on the fun.
